Worship June 14, 2020

Hi Kids (and Adults who are sneaking a peek!):

I have to say I am a bit disappointed.  We were hoping to return to worship in the church today, but have been advised not to reopen until September. Even if we had been able to open our doors this week, we would not be allowed to sing!  Can you imagine?! One of our scripture passages for today, talks about making a joyful noise and I was reminded of the pot lids and other noise-makers that humans around the world have used to express their joy and gratitude in the face of a very scary world-wide illness.  Here is the Psalm for today:

Psalm 100

Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth.

Worship the Lord with gladness; come into his presence with singing.

Know that the Lord is God. It is he that made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him, bless his name.

For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.

Do you remember the song we have sung so often with Linnea Good?  Today, we can't sing in the church, but YOU can sing along at home with Linnea and this video:

And now, let's go do exactly what this psalm is suggesting.  Let's go outside and join with many across the earth who are making a joyful noise!  Find your own way to express your joy and then, PLEASE, email me your photos or stories (  I'm getting lonely over here in this web church...

I know lots of you kids love to ring the bell at the church, so, even though we can't join for worship in the sanctuary, I wonder if we could ring the bell every Sunday at 1030 to remind the world that God is here, helping us in the midst of a very difficult time, helping us to find joy in the midst of the pain we see around us. Who wants to help?
